Terms of service

MSNPreceptor is an independent preceptor-placement and clinical-site coordination service for MSN nurse-practitioner students, and for non-NP MSN students who need a practicum mentor and project site. We source qualified, credentialed preceptors, verify their licensure and fit against your program's stated requirements, and prepare the documentation your program requires.

We are not a university and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any school named on this site; school names are used descriptively to identify the programs students attend. We are not a licensing body, a certification board, or a provider of academic credit, and nothing we do substitutes for your program's own requirements.

We do not guarantee that a placement will be secured, and final approval of any preceptor or site rests solely with your academic program. Nothing on this site is a promise of a specific outcome, a specific timeline, or that any particular preceptor will be approved. Published hour figures and program policies described on this site are drawn from public program materials and can change; the requirements that bind you are the ones in your school's current catalog and handbooks, and you are responsible for confirming them.

Requesting placement is free. Fees, where they apply, are disclosed to you before you commit and are tied to a confirmed, school-approved match. If we cannot place you, you owe nothing. If a school rejects a proposed preceptor, our obligation is to re-source or release you without charge, not to bill you for the attempt. Any additional terms specific to your engagement are stated in writing when you accept a quote, and those written terms control for that engagement.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us, for meeting your program's academic and clinical requirements, and for maintaining any licensure, immunization, background-check or professional liability coverage your school or site requires. Many programs require students to carry their own malpractice policy for the practicum; obtaining and maintaining that coverage is yours to handle, though we will flag the requirement when we see it.

You agree to use the site lawfully, not to misrepresent your program, credentials or identity, and not to submit information about other people without their consent. If a preceptor relationship we arrange raises a conflict your school's rules prohibit, such as being supervised by your own manager or a relative, you are responsible for disclosing it.

The guides on this site are general information about NP practicum requirements, offered to help you plan. They are not legal, financial or academic advice, and they are not a substitute for your program's official materials. Where this site links to or describes third-party resources, including universities and their published requirements, those parties do not endorse us and we do not control their content.

The text, guides and original graphics on this site belong to MSNPreceptor. You are welcome to quote or share them with attribution for personal, educational or review purposes; wholesale copying of pages into other commercial sites is not permitted. Nothing here grants any right to use a university's name or marks, which belong to their respective owners and appear on this site only descriptively.

We reserve the right to decline or end an engagement where the information given to us proves materially false, where a request asks us to circumvent a school's published rules, or where abuse is directed at our staff or at preceptors. If we end an engagement before a match is confirmed, nothing is owed. If you end one after accepting a confirmed, school-approved match, the written terms of your engagement govern what applies.

To the fullest extent the law allows, our liability in connection with the service is limited to the amount you actually paid us for the placement in question, and we are not liable for indirect losses such as delayed graduation, lost income or lost tuition, which sit outside our control because approval and academic decisions belong to your school. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not permit us to limit.

We may update these terms as the service evolves; the current version is always the one on this page, and continued use of the site after a change means the updated terms apply. If any single provision of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stand, and where written engagement terms exist for your specific placement, those control over this page for that engagement.

Questions about any of this reach a human through the contact page, and we answer them plainly. That includes questions of the awkward kind, what happens if a school changes its rules mid-placement, how a refund would actually work, who owns a document we prepared for your application. Asking before you engage costs nothing and is exactly what we would do in your position.
